CLINICIAN’S GUIDE

The Manitoba Pharmaceutical Association has designated independent study and review of The Clinician’s Guide:  Compliance & Side Effects with Atypical Antipsychotics (edited by Dr. Marie-Josee Poulin, MD, FRCPC) to be an accredited learning activity (MPhA File No. 26171M, Expiry – May 2009) for pharmacists in Manitoba.

DOCUMENTING THE CLINICIAN’S GUIDE AS A PD LOG LEARNING ACTIVITY

Pharmacists may document on their Professional Development Log (PDL) their time spent in review and study of the information presented in The Clinician’s Guide in preparation for applying this information to their practice.

For example, if a pharmacist spent 1 hour reviewing the information presented in The Clinician’s Guide on best practices in addressing issues of non-compliance and adverse effects with the atypical antipsychotics, they would then document this as an accredited learning activity (MPhA File No. 26171M) on their PDL.

Involvement in one contact hour of an accredited learning activity is equivalent to one CEU therefore; in this case, this accredited learning activity would be worth 1 CEU.
